A SCHOOLGIRL'S efforts to make a name for herself in the world of literature have been given celebrity encouragement.
Ten-year-old Rebecca Radigan was amazed when the Duchess of York responded to her plea for help in launching a career as an author.
The youngster, a pupil at Great Smeaton County Primary School, received a package from the duchess containing two signed copies of her books and a signed photograph of herself with the Duke of York and their daughters Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie.
And, through a letter written by an assistant, the duchess told Rebecca: "It is always difficult at first but you will get some positive feedback."
A delighted Rebecca said: "I am pleased that she's actually taken the time to read them.
"I didn't think she'd send stuff back because she's that busy.
