A Darlington couple are celebrating 50 years of married bliss.
In 1948, widower Harry Henderson was living in Darlington with his nine-year-old son John.
He decided he needed a housekeeper and Edith Brown, who lived in Shildon at the time, applied for the job.
Love soon blossomed and the couple were married two years later.
Edith, 87, suffers from Alzheimer's Disease and is now being cared for at Springfield Nursing Home.
Harry, 91, continues to live in the flat which the couple shared in Darlington, but still regularly visits his wife
