PUPILS from a Teesside school gave up their weekend to help an environmental project.
The youngsters, from Grangefield School in Stockton, helped to make a pond at a wildlife garden at the Oxbridge Allotments site.
Despite rain, the pupils worked between 9am and 5pm on Saturday and Sunday. Children from Oxbridge Lane Primary School and Garforth Community College in Leeds also helped.
The scheme was developed by Lynda Fox, from Grangefield school, who was voted the Northern region community teacher of the year.
The project was developed with support from Stockton Borough Council, the Lakes Residents' Association and the Leisure Gardeners and Allotments Association.
