A BUSY fell rescue team is short of one vital piece of life-saving equipment.
The squad is hoping Teessiders will help them to buy apparatus which could save the life of a heart attack victim, stranded on the North Yorkshire Moors.
Cleveland Search and Rescue has two fully-equipped Land Rover ambulances. Secretary Gary Finch said: "If we were passing when someone was having an attack in the street we would be obliged to stop. If we had a defibrillator it might save a life."
The British Heart Foundation has offered the team two defibrillators - one of them free - if the team can come up with £1,000 for one of them.
Mr Finch said: "Now we have made the decision to go for them, there is no point in delaying. But we are hoping for some help."
