GROUPS of youngsters are heading for Hartlepool power station this week to learn about keeping safe.
The event, organised by the Crucial Crew, brings local agencies together to highlight the dangers youngsters can face in everyday life.
Representatives from the police and fire brigade join other professionals to show children what they should do if faced with a dangerous situation.
About 1,400 children aged ten and 11 from across Hartlepool are expected to take part in the event, which will encourage them to act out situations and solutions in role-play.
The event is being held at the visitors' centre at the power station.
As well as warning youngsters about dangerous situations, the Crucial Crew team also aims to demonstrate what the results of bad behaviour can be, with the help of staff from Holme House Prison.
