Junior round-up
Billingham Wolves cruised to a 17-0 win at Telford Trojans in an English U-19 North A League encounter. Tom Griffiths was ruled out with a dislocated shoulder and DJ Flett was unavailable.
Telford's netminder Marc Dalton kept out Wolves until 9.45 when Stephen Wallace opened the scoring. He and Shaun Buckley extended the lead to 3-0 by the first interval. The middle period brought a further seven goals to increase the tally to 10-0 with Wallace scoring seven and assisting on two others.
Michael Snook, Wolves netminder, faced only one shot until he came off at 30.15 and Wesley Fawthrop also faced one shot. Dalton and James Corfield faced 76 between them. Richie Thornton struck a straight third period hat trick between 51.1-0 and 57.09 and Buckley also completed his hat trick.

Billingham Bears returned from Hull Ice Arena with a point from 2-2 draw against Kingston Crunch in the English Junior U-16 North A League. Netminder Michael Snook was Bears' point earner as he conceded only two goals from 44 shots. Bears could only manage 13 on Kingston.
Bears surprised their hosts by taking the lead after only 13 seconds from Paul Harland. This was the only goal in the first period and they held the lead until 23-54 when Lewis Day equalised.
Zoe Bayne restored the advantage at 26-01 until Day's second strike of the match three minutes later earned a share of the spoils.

Sunderland Arrows were beaten for the second time in eight days by Sheffield Rapiers in the U-16 North A League. Arrows on home ice at Newcastle Telewest Arena went down 3-1, an improvement on the 10-1 defeat at Sheffield the previous week.
Rapiers scored in the 12th minute to open their account and two goals in a minute made it 3-0 at 25.31. Arrows consolation goal coming from Stephen Laidler in the last minute.

Sunderland Commanches disappointing run at Pee-Wee U-14 North A League continued with a 9-0 defeat against Sheffield Stormers are the Telewest Arena. Stormers were ahead at 01.02 only to see Chris Key equalise in the 13th minute. Three goals in three minutes close to the end of the interval put Sheffield 4-1 ahead. Five unanswered in the final session gave them a 9-1 victory.

In the same competition Whitley Mohawks were beaten 5-0 at Telford Tiger Cubs.
Sunderland Cherokees suffered two defeats at the weekend. On the Saturday they lost 7-0 to Kingston Rivermen in English Bantam U-12 North A League. The next day they were in Fife to meet Kirkcaldy Redskins in a challenge game. They put up a much better performance going down 4-3. James Moutrey and Man of the Match Mark Robson sent Cherokees 2-0 ahead at 10.01. Kirkcaldy were level by the interval only for Martin Davies to restore the lead at 29.58. Redskins recovered to score twice and snatch victory.

Whitley Warriors hosted Altrincham Spitfires in Bantam U-12 North B league at Hillheads on Sunday. Whitley went a goal behind in the third minute and recovered to take a 4-1 interval lead. Daniel Murdy, James Horkan and a Shaun Lee brace giving Arrows the breakthrough. Altrincham struck twice in the final session only for Whitley to reply with goals from Sam Zajac, Murdy and Lee for his hat trick and a 7-3 victory.

Billingham Coyotes were beaten 3-1 at home by Altrincham Colts in an U-10 North encounter. Colts took a 15 minute lead for the only goal of the period.
Thomas Bence equalised in the 22nd minute. However, Altrincham scored twice in as many minutes for victory. Coyotes showed much promise is an entertaining match.
