THE NEW heads of a three-in-one East Cleveland school have been announced.
Alison Fraser, East Cleveland Education Action Zone Learning Manager, has been appointed principal of Freebrough Community College, the amalgamation of Rosecroft, De Brus and Warsett secondary schools.
There will be a director for each school site - Paul Wray at Rosecroft, Loftus, Ian Mather at De Brus, Skelton, and Frances Crockwell at Warsett, Brotton. The trio are currently acting heads at the schools, amalgamated because of falling pupils rolls.
The college, which becomes operational in September 2001, is to apply for technology college status, with the emphasis on science, maths and technology.
Mrs Fraser said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for young people in East Cleveland.
"There is considerable planning and activity to be undertaken to make Freebrough Community College a centre of excellence and a hub of regeneration in community learning in the 21st Century."
Patrick Scott, Redcar and Cleveland Council director of education, said: "We are delighted that with help from the Education Action Zone the new school has been able to appoint the full senior management team a year in advance of the official opening.
"This will give them plenty of time to prepare for the complex job of bringing together the three existing schools.
