A WOMAN told a court yesterday that getting trapped in a lift triggered off bad memories of being raped as a child.

The 27-year-old said that when the lift stuck at work she recalled being locked in a cupboard ten years earlier.

Then she remembered being sexually abused by Kevin Turner, who locked her in the cupboard, she told a jury at Teesside Crown Court.

Turner, 33, of Helmsley Moor Way, Darlington, denies three counts of rape.

Cross-examined by defence barrister Eric Elliott, the woman agreed that a photo showed her embracing and kissing Turner at a party when she was about 18, despite her claims she hated him.
