POLICE have urged a 14-year-old schoolgirl missing from home for nearly a fortnight to make contact and confirm she is safe and well.
Kirsty Keers lives with her foster parents in Aberfoyle Court in South Stanley, but left home on Tuesday, September 26.
Described by police as streetwise, Kirsty attends Meadow School in Spennymoor and has been reported missing in the past.
It's thought she has not gone far, and is perhaps staying in the Chester-le-Street or Ouston area.
However, as it is nearly two weeks since she was at home, police are urging Kirsty to contact them, or the social services, to confirm that she has come to no harm.
Kirsty is 5ft 6in tall, slim, with a pale complexion, blue-grey eyes and straight hair dyed a strawberry-blonde colour.
She usually has a nose stud and when last seen was wearing a grey Puffa jacket and faded blue trousers.
The police number is (01207) 232144.
