A 28-MILE sponsored bike ride raised more than £900 for charity.
A group of six people from Hurworth and Middleton-St-George, near Darlington, County Durham, undertook the ride around Harrogate to raise cash for the Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow Trust.
They decided to complete the ride because a young boy from Hurworth, Michael Foggarty, was recently diagnosed with leukaemia and the charity helps sufferers looking for bone marrow transplants.
Susanna Barker, her ten-year-old daughter Caroline, Elizabeth Harker, her husband Gary and their daughter Charlotte, eight, and Alan Walton, all took part and raised £920.
They were also given £50 in sponsorship from Stiller Transport.
Susanna said: "The young girls did very well. Charlotte had only just got her new bike, her first with gears, and hadn't had very long to practice on it. My bike is from the 1970s. I've had it since I was 11, but I did put a new saddle and tyres on it for extra comfort."
