DISABLED campaigners have criticised the number of obstructions on Darlington's pavements.
The Darlington Association on Disability group (DAD) says there are too many vehicles parked on pavements, causing a hazard to disabled pedestrians.
It has written to Darlington Borough Council to publicise its Pavements for People campaign.
Gordon Pybus, chairman of the access interest group at DAD, said: "Unless there is a case of an emergency, there is no reason for any vehicle to be on the pavement."
Members of Darlington Borough Council's Transport Forum will discuss the group's campaign at a meeting tomorrow.
