POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a burglary at a North-East factory.
Thieves stole thousands of pounds worth of aluminium mouldings from Aycliffe Engineering, in Beaumont Way, on the Aycliffe Industrial Estate, Newton Aycliffe, County Durham.
Red diesel and sheets of aluminium bronze were also taken in the raid, which happened between 11pm on Saturday night and 6am on Monday morning.
The eight tread fixings are used for moulding tyres and would have needed a wagon or similar vehicle to move them.
Police say a flatback van may have been involved, because one was seen in the Whinbank Way area of town at the time of the theft.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Newton Aycliffe police on (01325) 314401
