A PEDESTRIAN injured in a road accident nine days ago has died in hospital.
Geoffrey Lishman, 46, from Millfield Road, Fishburn, in County Durham, suffered multiple injuries in the accident at the junction of the B1278 and Salters Lane, Sedgefield, at about 10.30pm on Sunday, October 8.
He was crossing the road when he was involved in a collision with a white Mazda 626.
Mr Lishman was taken to North Tees Hospital, but was later transferred to the intensive therapy unit at Newcastle General, where he died on Sunday morning.
The driver of the car, a 57-year-old man from Peterlee, was treated for shock.
Police accident investigators are still appealing for witnesses to contact the serious accident unit on 0191-386 4929
