AN infant massage course is being held at a care centre in Newton Aycliffe.
The Pioneering Care Centre, off Burn Lane, will host the course, which will be led by Margaret Kemp, from the International Association of Infant Massage.
She will be demonstrating techniques while parents massage their own babies.
The technique is based on Indian and Swedish massage, reflexology and yoga.
Benefits of infant massage are said to be building strong bonds between parents and babies, improving relaxation, stimulation of respiratory, immune and digestive systems and relief from colic, wind, constipation and mucous.
The care centre will be offering a five-week course, available at concessionary rates, to parents of babies aged one month to nine months.
