ADULTS in Teesdale are being encouraged to improve their mathematics and English.
The LEAP Adult Education Centre, in Galgate, Barnard Castle, is offering adults in the dale the chance to take part in free courses.
The scheme, run by Durham County Council, provided basic tuition for more than 500 people in Teesdale last year. The ages of students ranged from 15 to 70.
Tuition is free, although there may be a small charge for anyone wanting to work towards a City And Guilds or Open College qualification.
