A GIRL'S team from Darlington has reached the finals of a football contest.
The Heathfield Primary School team were among more than 50 all-girl teams from County Durham which took part in the annual inter-schools tournament at Maiden Castle. The ten and 11-year-olds won their group at the league stage of the competition. They now aim to fight their way through the knock-out rounds of the finals, at Durham Johnson school, Durham, on October 30.
Girls have also made their mark in the school's rugby team. A mixed rugby side from Heathfield travels to Maiden Castle tomorrow for a tag rugby tournament
