DETECTIVES are urging more people to come forward after a rape victim made a public appeal to help catch her attacker.
The woman spoke of her ordeal in yesterday's Northern Echo.
Following a night out clubbing in Darlington, on Friday, October 6, the 21-year-old was raped in North Lodge Park, only yards from the Mardi Gras nightclub, in Gladstone Street.
The attack happened as she made her way home at about 1.30am.
She had met her attacker outside the Plastered Parrot, in Commercial Street, and he had gone with her and her sister to the Mardi Gras.
Detective Sergeant Ken Donnelly said there had been some response since her public appeal, but urged more people to come forward.
He said: "It's been a reasonably good response this morning. We thank them all for that."
The man was in his twenties, between 5ft 7in and 5ft 10in.
It is thought he was wearing a black, or dark blue, adidas top, bearing the brand's traditional three white stripes on the sleeves. He was also wearing light-coloured trousers.
Anybody with information is urged to contact Detective Constable Debbie Morrison, on (01325) 467681.
