PAST pupils and teachers of Rosa Street Primary School in Spennymoor are looking forward to their special reunion tonight.
Months of hard work have gone into organising the Rosa Street School Reunion 2000 by a dedicated committee of eight people.
The school was built 120 years ago and the reunion is specifically for pupils who attended prior to 1950.
During the first part of the evening, visitors will be able to have a look around the school and the children's work and take in how it has changed since they were pupils there.
The second part will have the theme of Memories, with a quiz and posters designed to describe what life was like in Spennymoor, at the school and across the world up to the 1950s.
During the third section there will be a photocall for group pictures of pupils who attended in the 1920s, 1930s, pre-Second World War years and post-war years.
And the evening will finish with a musical memories concert given by Lesley Wise, former music teacher at the school. Tickets have already sold out and organisers are expecting 130 past pupils and teachers to attend aged from 55 to 92. Entry is by ticket only.
Arnold Stapleton, one of the organisers, said: "We're particularly grateful for the cooperation of the headteacher and the school for letting us hold the reunion there, it has added a really special flavour to the evening."
