THE old lady of the Tees has celebrated her 87th birthday.
Prince Arthur of Connaught opened the Transporter Bridge, at Middlesbrough, on October 17, 1911. The Mayor of Middlesbrough, Councillor Kath Bevington led yesterday's party, cutting a cake featuring an image of the bridge.
Middlesbrough-born artist and film maker Dave Brunskill has produced a video focusing on the bridge.
He said: "The video celebrates the bridge and the industrial heritage of the area using a series of moving images and stills to bring the famous landmark to life."
