YOUNG job seekers are finding themselves in deep water as part of an outdoor activities initiative.
Every Tuesday, the 18 to 24-year-olds, who are on the Teesside Gateway to Work programme, visit Preston Park for team-building activities.
As well as orienteering and problem solving, the young people are challenged by Stockton Borough Council's' countryside wardens to build a raft to cross the River Tees.
Warden Bob Campbell said: "The team-building exercise is all about getting the youngsters to think about the best way of achieving something by working together."
The programme offers three weeks of training on the Government's New Deal scheme.
Scheme member Clare Dobson, 20, said: "You learn a lot about yourself as a person."
