THE waiting continued yesterday for a team of people trying to restore a classic sailing ship.
Members of the HMS Trincomalee Trust were expecting to hear if they would receive a National Lottery grant to continue renovating the ship, and to help build a visitors' centre at Hartlepool Marina.
But The Northern Echo was told yesterday that although a decision has been made it would not be announced to the trust until today.
The trust claims without the money the project will not be completed, but officials at the Heritage Lottery Fund have claimed funding has not been withdrawn for the renovation, but before the meeting they said they had not planned to pay for the ship's running costs.
