THE search is on to find the owner of an unusual clock recovered during a police raid on Teesside.
The Victorian clock was seized by police at a house in Ragworth, Stockton but attempts to find its owner have drawn a blank.
The clock, which is made of black marble, is shaped like a grave headstone and has a brass presentation plaque on it.
The inscription reads: "Presented to John Goodlet by the members of the Coatbridge Bowling Club to show their respect towards him as green keeper, June 19, 1889."
Police have traced the bowling club to Glasgow but have been unable to find out who owned the clock.
They have also spoken to the police forces in Durham, North Yorkshire and Cumbria and now believe the clock was stolen from the Cleveland area.
Anyone who recognises the clock should call Cleveland police on (01642) 326326.
