Bishop Auckland moved closer to the leading group in the UniBond League with a 2-1 home win over Worksop on Wednesday.
Worksop, who included former England international Chris Waddle, started the game well and took the lead after six minutes when Waddle swung over a free kick from the right for Kirk Jackson to head back for Steve Johnson to head in from a couple of yards.
Bishop levelled after 36 minutes when Danny Brunskill made a good run down the left and set up new signing Steve Bell, who turned the ball past Jamie Holmshaw.
Bishops steadily got on top in the second half as Worksop faded, and they got the winner just on the hour when Micky Dunwell headed in a corner.
Spennymoor player-coach Andy Toman has left the Brewery Field by mutual consent.
Toman arrived at the Brewery Field a month ago, and was involved in the club's first league win of the season at Blyth but after talks with manager Peter Mulcaster, Toman has decided to leave. "It wasn't working out as well as I hoped." he said.
Meanwhile, Moors have placed a club suspension on striker Christian Priest. Priest made his debut last Saturday for Moors at Altrincham, but two days later Moors received a call from Durham FA informing them that Priest had been charged by Northumberland FA for allegedly assaulting a match official in a Sunday game.
Manager Peter Mulcaster said; "We are suspending him until all allegations are investigated by an FA enquiry."
Blyth Spartans have been fined £200 by the Football Association for making an illegal approach for Billingham Town midfielder Craig Perry.
Blyth are understood to have failed to submit the required seven days notice of approach for Perry for a friendly before the start of the season, and despite complaints from the Northern League club, used him in the UniBond League.
Blyth have also been instructed to cancel the player's registration with the UniBond League, which means that they will have to adopt the correct procedure if they still want the player.
Blyth lost 1-0 at Emley on Monday night. Former Spennymoor midfielder Jason Ainsley could be on his way to Football League club Torquay United.
Ainsley watched Torquay in action last Saturday at Darlington, and was sat with his close friend, Brian Healy, in the stand. Gateshead manager Mattie Pearson is showing an interest in signing him following his spell in Singapore, but Ainsley is tempted to join his old Spennymoor teammate Wes Saunders at Torquay
