A KEEN amateur artist is hoping to hold a new exhibition of his work after the completion of his latest model.
Bill Colley, of Byers Green, near Bishop Auckland, has created a lasting tribute to the Todhills brickworks circa 1937 using a mixture of art card and wood. The artist is no stranger to having his work exhibited at Durham County Hall and his previous models include Byers Green colliery and brickworks and famous astronomer Thomas Wright's Lodge.
Said Bill, 68, of his latest work: "I think it's an era which should be recorded and put in 3D for future generations to look at.
"I thought it was a shame to let it go when I had so much documentation to back up the making of the model."
The models can take up to four months to make and Bill enjoys conveying the history and the "people" aspect of the places he depicts
