Earlier this month the Durham U-13 team played against Cumbria, Leeds and Northumberland at the Gateshead International Stadium. And they managed two wins, losing only to a strong Leeds side.
In their first match against Cumbria, Durham triumphed 16-8. The Boys played really well in both their singles (6-0) and doubles games (3-0). However, Durham's top two Girls were against stiffer opposition and lost their matches. The third lost also although the remaining three Girls won their matches. Cumbria won the Girls doubles 3-0 but Durham fought-back to win the mixed doubles 4-2.
Durham beat Northumberland 18-6 in their second game in a match where everyone played their hearts out which led to a great success.
The Boys won their singles (4-2) and doubles (3-0) games while the girls played vey well in the singles, winning (5-1). The Girls doubles were very tight matches resulting in a 2-1 victory for Durham. Durham followed this up with a 4-2 in in the mixed doubles.
In the third match Durham were well and truely beaten by a far superior team in Leeds, losing 19-5.
