Ithe U-14 section Callum Burn rifled six goals and Ryan Ridson (4) when Hepburn hammered Sandhole 10-2.

Liam Docherty (4) and John Storey (3) scored the bulk of the goals in Cleveland Halls' 8-0 success at home to Felling Magpies. But pride of place at U-14 level went to Adrian Sutcliffe who scored a phenomonal ten times in Wylam's 12-1 victory at home to Wardley. Matthew Conlan scored the other two goals.

A hat-trick by Kevin Hepsall and two goals by Lee Curry featured in Redheugh's Boys Club's 7-1 defeat of Felling Magpies in the U11 Division.

Scott Fenwick scored twice when Leam Rangers inflicted a 7-1 reverse on South Shields and Robert Allan recorded a hat-trick when Low Fell B finished 4-1 in front of Winlayton.

At U-12 level, Dale Carr and Bret McGill who scored three and Craig Pailey (2) were all in scoring form in Sandhole's 8-1 victory at Witton Gilbert.

Thomas Killeen got a brace of goals when Blackfyne just edged Whickham Glebe 4-3 while Redheugh Boys Club ended 3-0 ahead of Felling Magpies.

In the U-13 division, David Dodds scored both the Winlayton goals but his side still lost 4-2 to Cleveland Hall for whom Steve Bigger also scored twice.

In the U-15 division Leam Rangers saw off the challenge of Blaydon by a 6-1 margin, with David Smith scoring twice.

Graham McTaggart also scored twice when Redheugh Boys Club ended 8-1 in front of Spen Rovers. Tom Tony-Thirkell helped himself to a hat-trick.

So too did Pete Fairless in Cleveland Halls 8-1 victory over Whickham Gibside while two goals from David Cane featured in Dawdon's 7-1 success at Wear Valley.

New County North Durham Youth League

There were no games in the U-16 divisions since clubs were involved in the Durham County Youth Cup but at U-17 level Chester-le-Street improved their position with an excellent 8-0 victory at home to Derwent Valley.

Dean Burn and Daniel Thompson both scored twice and other goals flowed from John Short, Craig Morley, David Hope and Craig Patterson.

South Tyneside topped the scoring stakes when they put nine goals past Lanchester who replied just once. David Tate was in fine scoring form for the visitors and he rifled six goals while James Hudson reported a hat-trick.

South Shields and Dunston Fed produced and exciting match which the Fed won 3-2. Peter Brown bagged a brace of goals for Shields but the Fed took the points with two goals from Tom Holden and one by Ben Howell.

Durham County U-16 Cup

Durham City held Felling Magpies to a 2-2 draw but in extra time the visitors finished strongly and reached the next round with a 4-2 victory. Chris Simpson got two, Karl Bell and Daniel Graham were on target for the Magpies.

Another Felling Magpies, the U-15 XI, also reached the next stage with a 4-0 win at home to Grange Villa when Anthony Thompson scored three times and Nicky Lanston once.

At Chester-le-Street Waldridge Park edged Hepburn 7-4 with goals by Michael Thompson, with a hat-trick, Chris Brown (2) and Mark Howey (2).

Ushworth were involved in a nine goal thriller at Stockton Hardwick, winning by a 5-4 margin with strikes from Liam Holliday (2), Alex James, Adam Cairns and Gareth Tupping.

Blackfyne hit Stockton West End U-15 with a 7-1 defeat and Consett saw off the challenge of Roker Wanderers by a 4-1 margin thanks to goals by David Edgar, David Curry, David Lumley and Daniel Craggs
