A choir is to hold a charity concert in support of two Third World aid charities.
Christian Aid and Cafod will both benefit from the Chester-le-Street Civic Choir concert this Saturday. The event has been organised by members of St Cuthbert's and the town's Methodist Church, who have recently formed a Justice and Peace group involving both churches.
Group spokeswoman Norah McKie said: "This is a good example of churches working together in a spirit of co-operation. Everyone is welcome and we hope that all the other local churches will support the event."
Tickets for the concert, which starts at 8pm, cost £2 and include refreshments. They are available from the Parish Centre in Church Chare or on the door
