Split between Kestrel, Partridge and Skylark lakes the event attracted 72 rods and the leading two both smashed the existing match record.
Dave Pimlott of Keenets set a new best hauling out a massive 92.5.0 of carp. Tackling Skylark 25 Dave pole fished at 6 & 11 metres on the corn netting lots of quality carp his biggest sample over 9.0.0.
On the opposite bank at peg six hopes were dashed for Map Elton's Andy Waistell who thought he'd done more than enough to win bagging 84.2.0. Quality carp again filled the scales as corn and caster proved deadly alternating between three and six metres on the pole.
At the finish 30.12.0 only earned 27th position on the scoresheet.
Best of the rest: J McGarrell Map Elton 61.11.0. M. Longhurst Elton Tackle 60.2.0. H. England Elton Tackle 57.8.0.
Skimmer bream again dominated catches on the lower Tees at Yarm and there was a tight tussle for top spot during round 2 of the North East Winter League. Just edging it came Neil Cowan of Dick Clegg Metro. Drawn opposite the flats at Silver Street 5 skimmer bream plus roach fell to the stickfloat and caster before a late switch to groundbait feeder added another four bream for a level 23.0.0.
Darlington Angling Centre's Jimmy Messor on the first peg below the greenfield landed 14 skimmer bream. Groundbait feeder down the centre located the shoal changing between worm, red maggot, caster and corn on the hook for 22.11.0.

Mr Consistent Ken Close followed on 20.11.0. Floatfishing meat attracted chub off Manfield Scar run off and like the winner included 3 grayling on the maggot.
Further downstream catches suffered as dirty water coming in from the Skerne hit sport during Thornaby AA's Centenary Cup below Croft. Dave Nicholson of Darlington required only 8.6.0 to take the cup.

The Ure was fining down nicely for the Ripon Piscatorials Tetley Cup on the Norton Conyers estate.
Local Ray Gilby had the edge. The Alders length responded to stickfloat and caster bringing five chub and dace for a winning 22.5.0.
