Oagain, Saturday's programme was dominated by cup ties.

In the league, Black and Decker beat Brandon Station 4-1 with a hat-trick from Lee Thistlewaite and a goal from Stephen Baker. Peter Hart scored for Brandon Station.

Cockfield met Witton Park for the third time this season, with both teams having won one each.

After a goalless first half Witton Park scored an early goal through Cart Thexton, and added further goals from Billy Latcharn and Wayne Nicholson to give them a 3-0 win.

Quinns Inn moved into fourth place after a 4-3 win over Middleton Wanderers. Michael Longthorn (2), lan Brown and John Nicholson scored for Quinns Inn, with Graham Kearton (2), and Dale Dryden replying for Middleton.

In the first round of the Sacriston Aged Miners Cup there were two all-league clashes. Holders Shildon Railway lost to Darlington RA 3-1. Shildon Railway took the lead after 50 minutes through Will Swinburne but three goals in the last 20 minutes from Paul Adamson (2), and Gary Lowes moved Darlington RA into the next stage.

The goals in the other all-league clash between Roddymoor and DSRM all came in the second half. Darren Lamb and Anthony Stewart scored for Roddymoor, with Tommy Kelly replying for DSRM.

Coxhoe Athletic were too strong for Chester-le-Street Chesters and won 7-0, with goals from Neil Metcalfe (3), David Topping (2), Andrew Soppitt and Andrew Hepple.

In the same competition Glaxo lost 4-0 to Washington Westwood.

HANSON Sports SC have withdrawn from Division One because of lack of players. The club had played only one game on the opening day of the season, when they lost 4-0 at home to Osmotherley Rangers, and this result will be deleted from the records.

With a majority of clubs involved in the division cup competition, the only game in Division One saw Royal Oak extend their unbeaten start to the season with a 5-3 home victory over North Yorks Unison to move to the top of the table.

In Division Two, Northallerton Elders won 6-2 at Blue Star to move up into second place in the table. In the only Division Three encounter Hutton Rudby shared the points in a 3-3 home draw with Vale of York.

In the Division One Frank Bainbridge cup, Northallerton Police lost their unbeaten record when they went down 4-2 at Osmotherley Rangers, but Rountons won through to the next round with a 5-2 home victory over Thirsk Albion. Three Coopers Bedale had a useful 3-1 home victory over Great Ayton Hibs, but Masham continued their poor start to the season, going down 6-5 at Robert Thompsons.

In the Division Two Bob Seymour trophy, Stokesley SC pulled off a shock 2-1 home victory over leaders Brompton on Swale to end their unbeaten record and high-flying Catterick Village and Topcliffe were also both beaten in away ties at Skipton BS and Oak Leaf respectively.

In the Division Three Scorpion Cup, Cowtons had a massive 14-1 win at Knayton to maintain their hundred per cent start to the season. Marne Dragons won 4-2 at Ingleby Greenhow to extend their unbeaten run, but Romanby Park were beaten 4-3 at Streetlam Farmers.

Northallerton WMC won 5-2 in their local derby at Buck Inn Northallerton and Nags Head United had a convincing 7-2 home victory over Sinderby.
