TOW LAW NEW MARKET B went to the top of the table by two points, albeit temporarily as the chasing teams have a match in hand, when they only dropped two points on their visit to Tow Law North Point. Ida Ward took the only singles point for the home side while Tom Dowson, Shaun McGrath, Stephen Umpelby, Gavin Tennant and Phil Spencer won for the Market, who went on to take two of the three doubles.

Esh Stag's Head, who lost by three points at Billy Row Club, and Esh Football Club, who failed to send in their scorecard incurring a fine, share the second place in the table.

WILLINGTON COTTLES lead at the top of the table was cut to three points after they lost at home to Oakenshaw Club by two points, This moves the Club into third place just a point behind Willington Black Horse Tavern, with both teams having a game in hand of Cottles.

The comeback of the week came at Willington Brewer's Droop where the visiting Willington Black Horse Inn trailed 4-1 after Gill Spark, Fred Williams, Brett Fleming and Geoff Wilson had scored for the home side with only Norman Fletcher replying. Tony Clone with Carol Hunt and Joe Patterson with Norman Fletcher then scored doubles points for the Inn before Carol Hunt won the captains' game to force the draw.

Ia top of the table clash Tow Law Football Club came back from being 2-0 down to win by the odd point when they entertained Hamilton Row Black Horse. Colin Metcalfe and Alan Ellis put the Horse ahead when they beat the two key players in the home side, Isaac Slack and Billy Lyle. However Terry Ginty and Keith Muse won for the home side to set up a decider. The footballers edged to their odd point win when Arthur Henderson beat Mark Kennedy.

This win kept the footballers at the top of the table but their lead was cut to one point when the Cattle Mart B whitewashed the visiting New Market A. Tow Law Station are a further four points behind the Mart B with a match in hand.
