Tow Law Bass League

IN the top of the table clash Billy Row Club extended their lead to thirteen points when they only dropped three points to the visiting Esh Stag's Head, who had Keith Robson as their only singles winner, although they did take a trebles point and a doubles point. For the Club there were singles wins for Jeff Sneath, George Dodds, Geoff Pratt, John Heathcoat and Bob Slater.

Tow Law Cattle Mart moved into second place, six above the Stag's Head, following their seven points victory over the visiting Rose and Crown.

The leading individual scorers were B. Slater 180 and two 140's, D. Byrne 152 start including the double, G. Dodd and J. Sneath two 140's each and G. Pratt 140 for Billy Row Club, K. Robson 140 for the Stag's Head, J. Ridley 140 for the Comedian and M. Henry 140 for the Cattle Mart.

Willington League

THE top of the table clash at Willington Burn saw the visiting Victoria Club force a draw to stay six points behind their hosts with a match in hand. Cottles are in third place, two points adrift of the Victoria but with two more games played.

There were maximums from Paul Allchruch and Dave Robson of the Commercial and Alan Scott of the Black Horse Tavern, whilst Michael Richardson equalled league secretary, Aynsley Rainbow's quickest check-out with a fourteen darts game.

THE Championship seems to be tied up as the Coach and Horses lead the table by a massive 33 points. However the runners-up spot is wide open as Tow Law New Market B are two ahead of the Victoria Club, who are just one in front of the Queen's Head.

CROOK QUEEN'S HEAD went into their home game against Croft Social Club B level on points at the top but ended up three points ahead following their good victory. However the visitors still hold the lead in the captain's table despite losing.

Billingham Social were at home to The Sheraton from Stockton who got off to a good start in their 4-3 victory with, Sheila Jarrett (15.11) beating Karen Allison (14.70) 3-2, Pauline Crowe (12.02) beating Pauline Heal (10.84) 3-0 and Kath Ransom beating Dawn Smith 3-0. The home side fought back to take the next two singles, with, Wendy Graham (11.39) beating Vi Milburn (10.64) 3-0 and Mandy Stephens (14.34) beating Maureen Alderson (11.93) 3-1. The pairs were shared.

Lady of Match: Sheila Jarrett

Cricketers Arms, Stockton were at home to Burn Valley SC from Hartlepool who won 6-1. Pat A Smith beat Shelley Chinnock 3-1 to put Burn Valley one up before Madge Gunn levelled the match when she beat Sonya Hepple 3-2, but from then on the visitors stormed away. Claire Stainsby beat Jane Andrews 3-0, Vera Oliphant beat Louise Allan 3-1 and Dorothy Pounder beat Trish Manton 3-0, they also won both pairs.

The Match between Wings and The Royal was postponed.
