CHILDREN at a primary school in Redcar have been going mad for maths this week.
"Add Ings Up" at Ings Farm Primary School, Stirling Road, involved each of the 400 pupils in a series of fun and imaginative activities in the main hall and playground.
The hall was transformed with about 20 maths puzzles and games, while fingers were being crossed for the type of weather that allows the playground to be an outdoor classroom, too.
The week's events were the school's input into the national Maths Year 2000, as well as a celebration for the second year of the school's National Numeracy Strategy.
Parents and the school community were also encouraged to join in, with information packs and invitations to visit the various events.
The school's maths coordinator, Helen Malbon, said: "We're hoping it will have been a really good experience. The aim was to get the children active in learning about maths in a fun way, and we devised a lot for them to do.
"They definitely enjoyed it."
Ideas included bringing computer games to life with role play, maths exercises in the playground and creating their own maths souvenir - a table mat or a bookmark
