AN east Durham diving club is offering people the chance to have a go at the hobby.
Peterlee Sub-aqua Club is holding a try-a-dive night at the town's refurbished leisure centre on Wednesday, November 1, at 8pm.
The club will give newcomers the chance to try diving gear in the leisure centre pool.
A club spokeswoman said: "People can come along and hear about diving and go into the pool with scuba gear on under the supervision of qualified instructors.
"It is a nice opportunity to give it a go without having to make a commitment.''
The club trains during the winter and during the summer goes diving on the North-East coast and Scotland.
The event is only open to people over 18 and costs £5. People should bring their swimming costume and a T-shirt that can be worn in the water.
Anyone interested in attending the event must book their place in advance by calling 0191-384 2863 or 0191-384 8371.
