TWO east Durham schoolchildren have shown how to turn healthy living into an art form.
Barry Page, nine, from Glendene School in Easington, and ten-year-old Donna Burrell from Easington Primary each designed a prize-winning logo in a competition.
Easington Health Forum asked local pupils to design a new crest to promote its activities. Top prize went to Barry with Donna as runner-up. They also got a VIP welcome at a presentation ceremony at Easington District Council offices.
Council chairman Bill Peardon presented Barry with an art set and a goody bag in recognition of his achievement and Donna got a book token.
Coun Peardon said: "Both Barry and Donna really impressed the judges with their colourful and creative designs and I hope they enjoy their well-earned prizes.''
Melanie Lowes, facilitator for Easington Health Forum, said: "This residents' group ensures local people have a bigger role in the planning and improvement of local services.''
Now the organisation has its own instantly recognisable logo.
