FINANCIAL advisers, lorry drivers, headteachers and ambulance staff - people from all walks of life are represented at Bishop Auckland Chess Club.
The only area under-represented is Bishop Auckland.
The club has been going for 30-years and chairman Rob Berry is the sole member from the town.
"There must be chess players in the town and we need to get them coming to the club. It is a totally classless game. It does not matter where you are from," he said.
The club competes in the Durham County Chess League and the Darlington Chess League.
Players meet every Friday at the Aclet Hotel, Bishop Aucklands, at 8pm.
The club would like to hear from anyone who would like to join if they are aged 18 or over.
For details contact Rob Berry on (01388) 663208.
