EEVEE the rabbit wants to hitch a ride to Northern Ireland so she can be reunited with her owner.
Ten-year-old Tammy Reagan moved to Newtonards, County Down, with her family earlier this year.
But she had to leave her pet black and white bunny rabbit in Darlington to be cared for by her aunt, Tracy Gilmore.
Now Tammy is missing Eevee so much that she wants her back.
Mrs Gilmore said: "The family moved to Newtonards to live and decided to leave the rabbit here, but she's really missing it."
The family could not take Eevee over to Northern Ireland themselves, so have placed an advert in The Northern Echo today asking if anyone going to the port of Belfast could take her with them.
Mrs Gilmore added: "We can't take her on a plane, because she could explode.
"You can take dogs and cats on planes, but nothing as small as a rabbit, so it has to go on a boat."
The family is willing to pay £30 to a kind-hearted chaperone who will take Eevee to Belfast and hand her to Tammy on arrival.
Anyone who may be able to help can contact Mrs Gilmore on (01325) 358974.
