WORKMATES took a great leap for a charity when they plunged 12,000ft from a plane.
The team of ten from drainage manufacturer Marshalls made the jump yesterday, in aid of the John Butterwick Hospice.
In a true spirit of solidarity, they leapt in tandem from the aircraft as it flew over the Peterlee Flying Centre.
Lisa Atlay, a contract sales worker for the Eaglescliffe firm, said: "We were looking for an unusual way to raise money for the John Butterwick Hospice, which does a lot of good work in our community.
"The parachute jump was a first for most of us and an excellent way of raising much needed funds.
