YOUNGSTERS from Darlington's Whinfield Infant School swapped their Lego building blocks for the real thing.
The youngsters took part in Construction Festival Week at Darlington College's School of Building under the supervision of teachers and students.
They were taught how to lay bricks and did some carpentry.
Brickwork tutor Malcolm Jones said: "The children enjoyed themselves and it was a pleasure watching them work alongside students within the department."
The school of building at the college has scooped numerous awards in the past.
This year, student Ross Mitchell, 19, was awarded The National Federation of Builders North-East Apprentice of the Year.
