CHILDREN'S favourite Fireman Sam will visit a fun day in Darlington on Wednesday.
The Darlington Borough Council event at Skerne Park will feature a circus performer, a balloon artist, a magician and a bouncy castle.
Fireman Sam will be guest of honour, and County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue will attend to demonstrate how to deal with chip pan fires.
The Skerne Park Youth Council will supervise a litter pick for children, with all volunteers getting a free swimming voucher for the Dolphin Centre pool.
The event will also be an opportunity for people to meet council housing officers to discuss a variety of issues.
There will also be a prize draw for those who enter a housing questionnaire, with prizes donated by Sunderland and Darlington football clubs, Darlington Civic Theatre and Asda.
Representatives from a number of bodies will also be available to speak to the public.
They include Skerne Park Residents' Association, Skerne Park Community Centre, Darlington Training and Enterprise Council, Tees Valley Health Authority, the Employment Agency, Neighbourhood Watch, Durham Community Development Association and the Skerne Park Community Caf
