Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council's Mayor, Councillor Arthur Dobson, has returned from a trip to the borough's twin town in Germany, already planning a welcome back.
Coun Dobson and his wife, Iris, travelled to Troisdorf, near Cologne, as part of the Town Twinning Association's party to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the link.
Coun Dobson, who was presented with an inscribed crystal jug to display in Eston Town Hall.
Now, Coun Dobson is looking forward to welcoming back his new friends when they visit Redcar and Cleveland next April. The visit will be one of the last civic duties Coun Dobson will perform at the end of his civic year.
