RESIDENTS in Middlesbrough are invited to recall the town's industrial heritage in a guided walk tomorrow.
Led by Robin Daniels from Tees Archaeology and Anne Gladwin from Middlesbrough Council, the Millennium Ironmaster's Trail promises to bring to life the industrial roots of the town and the ironworks which were on the riverside.
Walkers can visit the sites which once featured a thriving iron and steel industry, and now supports a variety of flora and wildlife.
The Ironmasters Trail was developed by Middlesbrough Borough Council in partnership with Tees Archaeology and the Cleveland Industrial Archaeology Society, and has been funded by the Heritage Lottery Millennium Festival Fund. The walk is free and lasts about two hours.
Walkers should meet in the car park at Teesaurus Park, Riverside Park Road wearing sturdy footwear
