THE captivating play Mickey and the Emperor is to be performed at Bishop Auckland Town Hall next Thursday by the Theatre of the Incurable Players.
The show features live music, puppets, and an animated set. It was written by David Almond, from Newcastle, whose novel Skellig won the 1998 Whitbread Award Children's Book of the Year.
His work, which mixes grim reality with magical and extraordinary encounters, has won over countless numbers of young readers.
For the latest production David Almond has worked in collaboration with the Wallsend-based Theatre of Incurable Players.
The performance begins at 1.30pm and is suitable for nine to 12-year-olds. Tickets cost £3 or £2 concessions and £1.50 for children with a school party.
