URGENT renovations to a Teesside community farm have been carried out by volunteers from the BP Cats terminal at Seal Sands.
High Clarence Community Farm has welcomed about 250,000 visitors since it opened in 19991, but it had been struggling to recover from weather damage of the past two years, and lack of funding.
In response to an appeal for help, 20 employees from Cats visited the farm to help out.
Barbara Barker, who organised the team, said: "We did a lot of work, including fence building, painting of buildings and fences, gardening and general repairs. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the experience."
Manager of the farm, Dave Featherstone, said: "We've had a bad two years, when the weather meant we had to shut for six months of each year because of flooding.
"The help given to us by Cats has been invaluable. The future looks bright now."
