MAIL deliveries on Tyneside returned to normal yesterday after postal workers returned to work.
A total of 74 staff walked out of the Royal Mail delivery office at Heaton, Newcastle, on Tuesday, in protest at the suspension of two colleagues.
The stoppage disrupted services to homes and businesses in Heaton, Walker and Byker.
A Royal Mail spokesman said: "Staff returned to work at 5.30am, yesterday morning, and deliveries were being made.
"We would like to apologise to customers for the disruption this unlawful industrial action caused to services on Tuesday."
