Hetton Youth League
HERRINGTON maintained their 100 per cent record in style, defeating Springboard 9-0. The home side held out for 20 minutes but once the leaders broke the deadlock it was one way traffic and by the interval Herrington established a five-goal lead.
Gavin Cogden maintained his prolific form when he rifled five goals and others flowed from Paul Douglass, Steven Copeland, Phil Makle and Anthony Mitchell.
Herrington have now won all seven games, scoring 47 goals and conceding nine while Springboard prop up the table with one point from seven outings. They have conceded 60 goals, 26 more than Witton Gilbert who won for the second time when they entertained Lumley.
In two previous fixtures Lumley had the better of their opponents but on this occasion a Witton Gilbert ran out 2-1 winners scoring a second-half winning goal. Earlier, Richard Kay had scored for Lumley during the opening 45 minutes.
Fairs Software Tyneside Junior League
MOST sides were involved in the league cup, one match played in the league. Cleveland Hall had the better of Swalwell, winning 6-3 with goals by Robert Dixon (2), Martin Nugent, Jamie Dixon, Jason Telfer and Steven Sibbald.
In the cup, New Hartley, who have won all nine league games, suffered a shock 4-3 home defeat against Consett for whom Chris McGinn (2), Jonathan Cummings and Chris Elliott were the marksmen. Brian Dodds, David Foster and Richard Gasden were on target for New Hartley.
Leaders West Denton edged Redheugh 4-3 with strikes by Craig Pleasant (2), Kevin Smith and Paul Watson. Craig Nesbitt, Paul Clegg and Chris Douglas found the net for Redheugh.
Dunston Federation reached the second round, defeating Percy Main 4-0 when Chris Walsh (2), Linton Smith and Paul Leonard found the net.
Tow Law, who have failed to gain a point in 10 league outings, bowed out 4-1 at home to South Moor. Steven Bowey was the Lawyers scorer while Richard Hodge (2), Tony Quinn and Chris McArdle put South Moor in to the next round.
New County North Durham Youth League
CHRIS Round and Mark Howie were the scorers when Chester-le-Street Waldridge Park defeated Redheugh 2-1 in Divsion A of the Under-16 section.
Consett entertaiend Stocksfield and recored a 3-0 victory scoring all the goals durng the second period through Daniel Craggs, Dean Adamson and Chris Haggen.
In Division B, Usworth hit Sheriff Hill 9-3 and in the Under-17 section, Dunston Federation enjoyed a 6-2 success over Harton and Westoe whose goals came from Lee Dixon and Simon Blakey. Alex Meadows and Ben Howell both recorded hat tricks for Dunston.
An only goal by Richard Rowe was sufficient for Blackfyne at home to Lanchester.
In the Under-17 Division League Cup, South Tyneside edged Sandhole 2-1 with a brace by David Tait. Shaun Pearson was Sandhole's only marksman.
Chester-le-Street will have to replay their tie with Felling after the sides equally shared six goals following extra time. David Thompson (2) and Craig Poterslye were on target for the Cestrians with Andrew Fatkin (2) and Paul Brewiss finding the net for Felling.
A number of sides were in the Edward Wanless Trophy and none did better than Cleveland Hall who visited Wardley and won 5-3 with goals by Daniel Armary (2), Craig Naylor (2) and Wayne Bone. David Lucas bagged a brace for Wardley whose other scorer was Paul Marsden.
Prudhoe Town and Haydon Bridge will need a replay to settle their tie after scores were level at 2-2. Craig Wright scored both the Prudhoe goals with Carl Philips and Mark Finlay on the mark for Haydon Bridge.
Grange Villa scored twice in extra time to defeat Blackfyne 5-4. Simon Peel (3) and Craig Mickle (2), netted for Grange Villa while Nicky Tinkler, David Richardson, Aaron Collingwood and James Ormeron struck for Blackfyne.
A and C Kelly Gateshead Youth League
REDHEUGH surged into the next round in the Under-11 League Cup with a 9-0 victory at Chopwell when most of the goals were scored by Alex Hudson (3), Chris Noble (2) and Anthony Ray (2).
Two goals from Chris Dixon featured in Winlaton's 5-1 defeat of Felling and there were also victories for Low Fell A at home to Redheugh and Blackfyne who saw off South Shields challenge.
In the one Under-11 League game Leam Rangers A defeated Sandhole 7-3. Ben Pearson and Carl Richardson both scored twice for Rangers while Mark Bell recorded a hat-trick for Sandhole.
In the Under-13 Division, Steven Bigger and Keith Carson both bagged a brace in Cleveland Hall's 6-1 victory against Sandhole while Redheugh defeated Ryton 1-0 and Leam Rangers edged Felling 2-0 when Anthony Boyle scored both goals.
Blaydon finished 3-0 ahead of Stocksfield and Consett hit Winlaton 8-0 when Paul McBridge and David Parker both scored twice.
At Under-14 level, Callum Burn scored three times for Hebburn but Blaydon won 8-3 when Owen Fox found the net six times.
Gary Wardle and Matthew Patterson both scored a couple of goals as Redheugh defeated Leam Rangers 5-2 and Consett hammered Sandhole 9-0 when the goals flowed from Scott Ray (3) and Andrew Whitfield (2).
Two goals from Lee Johnson enabled Cleveland Hall to finish 5-0 in front of Blacfyne and in the Under-15 league, Winlaton defeated Wear Valley 4-0 when Keith Main scored twice. Consett also took the points, defeating Felling 2-0.
In the Under-15 League Cup, Crookhall had the better of Dawdon by a 3-1 margin when Luke Toole scored twice while Haydon Bridge defeated Prudhoe Town 4-1 and Dan Thompson was another player to score twice. The best performance in the cup, however, was by David Smith of Leam Rangers who scored seven times as his side hammered Spen Rovers 9-1.
Andrew Blacklock, Lee Farall, Dean Bramwell and Peter Fairless all scored twice in Cleveland Hall's runaway 8-0 victory over Wardley.
In the Durham County Under-12 Cup, Cleveland Hall defeated Hartlepool Crest Boys 2-0 while Sandhole and Jarrow St. Bedes finished 2-2 but Sandhole won on penalties.
A couple of goals by Jamie Coltman enabled Whickham Glebe to defeat Newton Hall St. Bedes 4-3 and Consett Blackfyne went through with a 2-0 success against Stockton Teesside Rangers.
Consett and Coxhoe finished 4-4 but Consett reached the next round following a penalty shoot out.
Bishop Auckland St Mary's
THE Saints had a 10-0 home victory against Peterlee YC in the Durham County U-10 Junior Cup after leading 6-0 at half-time. Lawrence Oliver (3), Steven Alderson (2), John Barker, Tony Thexton, Darren Richarson, Sam Hill and Martin Lamb got the goals.
The Under-10s also had a fine 5-1 win at home to Stockton West End in the Teesside Junior Alliance with a hat-trick from Paul Bowes and a brace from Michael Weighill.
The Under-11s lost 2-0 at home to Kader. The visitors displayed better finishing as Saints had no luck in front of goal.
Northallerton Juniors
CHRIS Foster's four-goal performance in a 9-2 away win for the Under-10 B team earned him the man of the match award against Bedale B. Harry Payne scored a hat-trick with two from Thomas Chapman.
And that completed an Under-10 double with the A team defeating Bedale with the help of an own goal, together with efforts from man of the match Josh Boynton and Graham Caygill.
Chris Chapman, man of the match, hit a stunning 30-yard top corner left-foot shot to seal a 3-2 home victory over Darlington Spraire Lads. Matthew Hill and Andrew Lagan were Northallerton's other marksmen.
To complete a happy day for Northallerton, the Under-13 team defeated Catterick Village 3-0 with goals from Eddie Craven, Talon Wood and Craig Johnstone. Mark Blair was man of the match.
Chester-le-Street Town
The U-17s were the only club side in action at the weekend when they played away to Felling Magpies in the League Cup.
Chester, who made wholesale changes following on from the previous week, missed several chances before Felling took the lead on the stroke of half-time before Craig Patterson blasted the Cestrians level just after the re-start.
Daniel Thomson followed in a shot to score from close range to take Chester into the lead only to see the Magpies equalise which meant the game went to extra time.
In a closely contested match, Chester were the stronger team and made the running towards the end of the extra period but the Magpies broke away and scored what appeared to be a winner with a minute remaining.
However, Thomson hammered a superb 25-yarder with his last kick of the game to take the game back to Moor Park for a replay.
