CHESTER-LE-STREET are hoping for another boost when they take on Peterlee for the second time inside four days today.
Chester defeated Peterlee 3-1 in the Durham Challenge Cup in midweek, and another win today will lift some of the gloom after their disappointing FA Vase defeat last Saturday.
Chester manager Paul Bryson was dejected after that defeat, but after the midweek victory he said: "I was very pleased with the players' attitude."
Chester will be without four players because of injury, but Damien Maw returns to the centre of defence.
Peterlee could make changes to the team which lost in midweek.
Durham City can go level on points with leaders Bedlington tonight, but they will have a tough away game at Guisborough, who are unbeaten in their last eight matches.
David Hunt, Glen Moan, Gary Pearson, Craig Lake and Paul Robertson are all struggling for Durham, while Guisborough are without keeper Matt Coddington and possibly midfielder Garry Hinchley because of injury.
Marske United are hoping to recapture their league form after a recent dip when they take on Jarrow Roofing.
Michael Robson returns to midfield, but striker Chris Reeve is doubtful with tonsillitis.
Roofing have doubts over Joe Donaghie, and Scott Garrett.
Bottom club Crook Town, who have yet to win in the league this season, go to West Auckland, and include new signing midfielder Terry Stones from Shildon. Keeper Jason Scotter will have a fitness test on a hand injury, so Jeremy Minter stands by. Striker Neil Burn is unavailable. West are without striker Dale Anderson.
Billingham Synthonia, are at home to Hebburn, and welcome back striker Dave Connor and defender David Baker. Hebburn welcome back keeper Danny Yates, while striker Mark Laidler might return after injury.
Brandon are without striker Andy Purvis because of suspension at home to Newcastle Blue Star, but Micky Cunningham, Darryl Smith and Jamie Carfoot are in the squad.
Seaham Red Star welcome back five players to their squad who missed the midweek cup defeat by Nissan, for their trip to Consett, but strikers Dave Ross and Steve Newham are both missing
