POLICE in Darlington are appealing for a man involved in a car accident, in which a pensioner suffered a broken hip and leg, to contact them.
The accident happened almost a month ago, in Corporation Road, but it has only just emerged that the woman was injured in the accident.
She was crossing the street at 7.45pm on September 28, from Bell Stores, when the accident occurred, as a man in his early 20s was reversing his car.
He stopped and asked if the pensioner was all right, and offered her a lift home.
But the woman said she was fine and the man drove off.
It later emerged that the woman had suffered a fractured hip and femur in the accident, and police are appealing for the driver of the car to contact them.
The man was driving a white car.
Anyone with information should contact acting Detective Inspector Alec Francis, of Darlington police, on (01325) 467681
