Bishop Auckland manager Tony Lee wants to turn Kingsway into a fortress again after his side beat Leek Town 3-1 on Saturday.

"I want to make it a difficult place for visiting teams again, by playing the way we did on Saturday. Apart from our defeat by Gateshead, we've done well here this season, and if we can improve our away form, then we can push up the table."

Bishops took the lead after 16 minutes when Micky Nelson fired home from a corner, and went further ahead when Danny Mellanby, on for Andrew Shaw, beat two defenders and scored wit ha right foot shot. And before he got the third when he headed in a cross from Anthony Lee, who is being watched by Stockport.

Bishops missed further chances in the second half, before they scored Leek's consolation, Thomas Dunn sliding the ball into his own goal. But victory was at a cost, striker Andrew Shaw limping off with a first-half hamstring injury and will be out for three weeks.

Spennymoor went down to the only goal of the game at Accrington Stanley. "It was a much better performance then the game in midweek," said manager Peter Mulcaster. "I was given the improvement I wanted, and a draw would have been a fair result."

The home side scored after 13 minutes through Carragher, but Moors nearly levelled when a shot by Chris Leonard was nearly turned in by Michael Carter.

Whitby are unbeaten in their last three matches following a 1-1 draw with Bamber Bridge at the Turnbull Ground. David Goodchild headed Whitby into the lead, but Lee Connell put through his own goal for the equaliser.

Blyth Spartans moved away from danger after winning 2-1 at Droylsden, Paddy Little getting a second half winner after Glen Robson scored early in the game.
