STUDENTS will be able to access a college course without leaving home as part of a new television project.
Teesside Tertiary College has teamed up with four of Middlesbrough's Community Economic Development areas, with support from the European Social Fund, to film the Go For It! series.
Using familiar scenes from all over the town as the backdrop, the college has produced the eight programmes with the aim of developing viewers' literacy skills.
They will be screened from today on the NTL Community Channel, channel eight, which is otherwise known as Boro TV.
The driving force behind the nine-month project has been Graeme Aldous, who runs Teeafit Sound and Vision.
He created the programmes, in which he features as the presenter, using facilities at the University of Teesside.
Those who tune in will receive free support from tutors throughout.
The programmes will be shown on Mondays at 10.30am, and Wednesdays at 2pm, with omnibus editions on Sundays.
