YOUNG artists have been capturing their history and hopes for the future in a giant mural in Hartlepool.
Children from the Owton and Rossmere areas of the town spent a week creating a mural which will hang on the wall of the resource centre in Wynyard Road.
The youngsters used paint and other materials to create the artwork in a project funded by the Owton Rossmere Partnership, which is aiming to regenerate the area.
Artist and mural specialist Kerry Marshall worked with community arts officer Maureen Hanley to help the children create the art work.
Ms Hanley said: "The quality of the youngsters' work is excellent they have been coming up with some unusual and exciting ideas. The project is helping them develop a sense of pride in their area and its history and traditions."
